i’ve met a gentleman at work who is really into ham radio. he’s done a lot of cool stuff like help build a camera for the mir space station that beamed down images to ham operators around the world.

being that i’m really into electronics, i find it fascinating. yesterday, we drove up onto a hill near the job and were able to make contact with a guy in pittsburgh. we hit a digital tower in new hampshire where the signal was shot through the internet and popped out in pennsylvania.

i’m thinking about getting my license. it could be a fun hobby.
